Inspired by stoner-folk troubadour Todd Snider, Daniel Leyes overcomes his demons and launches music career.

Bradley Beach, New Jersey – May 7th, 2021 – Daniel Leyes, after hiding his musical talents from the world for his entire adult life, is garnering attention as a uniquely talented singer-songwriter whose best days are clearly ahead of him. Throughout a life marred by addiction, alcoholism, and myriad mental health battles, Leyes’ one outlet was music. He wrote deeply personal songs that no one ever heard. While he labored as everything from cab driver to college professor, his music remained a private affair.

Then, at the age of fifty-five, Leyes heard a song on the car radio by stoner-folk troubadour Todd Snider that turned his world upside down. Snider–who usually performs solo with just an acoustic guitar, telling humorous stories between songs–inspired Leyes to muster the courage to perform in public. In Snider he found a kindred spirit, a performance role model, and a songwriting standard-setter to aspire to.

Daniel decided to challenge his debilitating performance anxiety and played in public for the first time at a local talent show. With shaking hands and a nervous voice, he sang out the wrong lyrics to his own song but survived. And despite that shaky first try he was hooked and wanted to do it again and again. So, he hit the open mic circuit to hone his performance chops and was soon invited to appear at a prestigious local songwriters showcase where he brought the house down and was invited back several times, taking his place among some of New Jersey’s best songwriters.

Then Daniel recorded and released his first EP, “A Single Step,” independently in December 2019. But within days of its release bad luck struck and he had to take a break due to major back surgery and then contracting the COVID – 19 virus during the global pandemic. During his recovery Leyes kept writing and the result was two fun follow-up singles, “One Man Mosh Pit” in 2020 and “Tequila” in 2021. All his recordings are produced by veteran NJ music man John Mulrenan, who adds drums, bass and keys to Daniel’s vocal and guitar work bringing Leyes’ ideas to life for the listener.

This summer he will be appearing at several festivals and gigging the bars, beaches, and boardwalks of the Jersey Shore. More distant travels will undoubtedly follow. A new album is planned for the fall. He is available to share his inspirational story virtually for interviews and features. He also does private livestream performances. Music for a Cause, HP & His Hot Take Out Band Are Back with a New Album, Better Than Ever

Join HP & His Hot Take Out Band on their musical journey to provide healing and hope for people affected by COVID 19. The Band is joining hands with the One Square Mile Community Project to make music a source of healing and hope to those struggling around the world.

Stockton, New Jersey – May 4th, 2021 – HP & His Hot Take Out Band is the talk of the town. Speaking to Jersey Beat Magazine, Phil Rainone said, “They are a band that has to be heard to be seen and seen to be heard.” His statement itself describes how exclusive and committed the Band is towards their music. Making noticeable music in the Americana, Blues, Cajun Zydeco, and roots genre, HP & His Hot Take Out Band loves making music and commit to their work with a passion.

HP & His Hot Take Out Band are unique because they make covers and originals that are equally as good as the covers they interpret. Some of their most upbeat originals include “Zydeco Mama,” “ Back In The Woods,” “Every Time I Turn Around,” and “Baby Baby.” The Band believes in making unique music that stands out and speaks for itself. The Band’s accordionist Bruce Gassman was honored as the best accordionist of the year by the committee of the World Music Awards.

One Square Mile Community Music Project is a Not-For-Profit organization whose mission is to make music a source of healing and hope. The organization has joined hands with the HP & His Hot Take Out Band and is releasing a new CD titled “Keyport Live.” The organization will be donating the net proceeds from the sales of this CD to the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, which was established for the residents of New Jersey who have been impacted by COVID-19 , and to the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation that works to preserve and promote jazz, blues, and other forms of music in New Jersey.

The Keyport summer concert series was recorded down the shore, live on June 29th, 2017. The photography on the CD was done by Howard’s son Sam.

Howard Parker is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Howard has performed over the years in NYC at CBGB’s, Kenny’s Castaways, Manny’s Carwash, The Bottom Line, Terra Blues, and The Bitter End. He performed in The Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Festival, The Takoma Park 30th Annual Folk Festival “Live CD”, The Wonder Bar, Beach Bar, Trinity & The Pope, Jon & Peters (NHPA), and many more.

Steve Nelson is the person who came up with the idea of the “Percussion Board.” Steve has been well established in the music world and has played with renowned names in the industry such as The Neville Brothers, Radiators, Phish, Zachary Richard, to name a few. He is a brilliant songwriter and can work his magic around his listeners with his magical and commendable music skills.

BRUCE GASSMAN
Bruce was the youngest member of The Accordion Symphony Society of NY at fifteen; He performed with Charles Magnante at the New York World’s Fair.

Bruce has the honor of being the first-ever accordionist to perform with the ever known “Holiday Express,” who are a group of hundred musicians and one thousand five hundred volunteers who perform from Thanksgiving till Christmas, making their performance a gift to those who are less fortunate.

Bruce was a guest performer at a charity concert called “The Restore The Shore” benefit concert, which was based on the official charity formed by New Jersey’s Governor Chris Christie to help the needy in the state.
In 2013 Bruce joined HP & His Hot Take-out Band and brought the colors of music in the Band.

BOBBY BOYD
Bobby is known as The Pocket Man. He joined HP & His Hot Take Out Band in 2016.

Three CDs By Artist Ron “Kelekona” Vanderford Released

Gold Beach, Oregon – May 1st, 2021 – Musician Kelekona’s three CDs have all been released. Titled, ‘Kona by The Sea,’ ‘Simply Slack Key, and ‘Aloha Slack Key: A Tribute to Gabby ‘Pops’ Pahinui.’ The artist had always wanted to go international, and it seems his wishes have finally come true. Each of the CDs is a marvel in their own right and have garnered a lot of attention due to the refreshing blends of several genres.

‘Kona By The Sea’ was initially released on November 1st, last year. An authentic and unique take on conga and acoustic guitar, the album is a seamless blend of Kelekona’s voice and instruments. Like “Your Sweet Love,” other songs are an interesting combination of the musician’s vocals and acoustic and electric guitars. Owing to the dynamic and soulful musical style, the album has received attention worldwide. All the music on this CD album was composed and arranged by Kelekona.

The other CD, ‘Simply Slack Key,’ was re-released on March 20th this year. Originally released in 2007, this CD was entirely composed, recorded and produced by the artist. It was much appreciated in the Hawaiian Islands and even gained some popularity around the world. During the music’s release, Kelekona visited every border store in Hawaii to fondly play Slack Key music. This compilation stands out because of the artist’s interpretation of Slack Key Guitar music. One of the tracks, “Amazing Grace,” has been hailed as one of the most beautiful renditions of the song. Kelekona contributed two songs on this third CD, ‘Aloha Slack Key: A Tribute to Gabby ‘Pops’ Pahinui,’ which is a compilation CD honoring his esteemed mentor, Gabby Pahinui. This CD was produced & distributed by Hula Records and feature songs by renowned Slack Key Guitar Artists including Gabby Pahinui.

Kelekona founded Water Fountain Records in 2007 to release his CD ‘Simply Slack Key’ and the tradition is continued with the release of the CD ‘Kona By The Sea’ on the artist’s own record label.

In current news, the album ‘Kona By The Sea’ has made its way to being one of the entries in the competitive 2021 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. It has been selected for the Contemporary Acoustic Album of the Year Category. The musician’s work has been recognized in the past as well. His other two CDs, ‘Simply Slack Key’ & ‘Aloha Slack Key,’ were entries for the 2007 Grammy & Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.

The highly talented artist peacefully passed away on July 4th, 2018, at his home in Las Vegas. During his lifetime, the artist recorded a substantial amount of music, which will continue to be released.

Ron “Kelekona” Vanderford first recorded in 1986 with his friends at the Green Flash Recording Studio in Kailua-Kona. Here, several original compositions were recorded, which have been released on the latest CD ‘Kona By The Sea’. Kelekona was a proud Hawaiian US Army Veteran and is interned at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, a national cemetery located at Punchbowl Crater in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Posthumously, the artist shares his joy, peace & Aloha with his listeners through his compositions. Kelekona will always be known for his Slack Key rendition of the song “Amazing Grace”.
