New album out in Dicember 2023

Rome, IT, Italy — It will be out by December the highly anticipated new album by Marcello Appignani entitled Angeli – Nuove apparizioni ( Angels – New Apparitions, Ed. MEP – Music Ensemble Publishing). The CD, both physical and digital, is the ninth of the Italian composer and is released following a long gestation period, six years after the release of the previous album Solochitarra (Guitar only).

The project involves a massive and varied use of musical instruments, from orchestra, choir, electronics and the collaboration of numerous and esteemed soloists called to the recording of winds, strings and harp. It all comes from a reworking of the composition Angeli ( Angels) written by the Maestro exactly twenty years ago for a collective exhibition of contemporary visual art.

The album, in addition to the revised and re-recorded 2003 music, includes four new tracks featuring the archangels: Gabriel and his grace, Michael and his energy, Raphael and his intensity, Uriel and his light. GARY LLOYD NOLAND, founder of the Facebook groups Wild Composers and Composers with Big Egos, was born in Seattle in 1957 and grew up in a broken home in a crowded house shared by ten or more people on a plot of land three blocks south of UC Berkeley known as People’s Park, which has distinguished itself as a site of civil unrest since the late 1960s. As an adolescent, Noland lived for a time in Salzburg (Mozart’s birthplace) and Garmisch-Partenkirchen (home of Richard Strauss), where he absorbed a host of musical influences. Having studied with a long roster of acclaimed composers and musicians, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in music from UC Berkeley in 1979, continued his studies at the Boston Conservatory, then transferred to Harvard University, where he added to his credits a Masters and a PhD in Music Composition in 1989. ViolinGrrl plays several musical instruments, but at the early age of 3, she saw Itzhak Perlman play violin on Sesame Street, and that’s when she fell in love with the instrument that would become her lifelong pursuit. Since then she has had many years of formal training in classical and jazz techniques. She plays music both by sight and by ear and is able to create spontaneous solos as well as accompaniments to artists she plays with.

John Conway is an entrepreneur, visionary, musician, and technical strategist. Named as one of the top global technology and security architects in the world, John wasn’t always in IT. In his early years, John toured with various groups and bands delivering lead vocals, playing keys, clarinet, and sax. A Song in Support of Ukraine

Boston, MA — International Opera Singer Natalja Sticco is sharing her voice and music to send a message of unity with Ukrainian Soldiers. Since March 1st, Natalja is donating all streaming and download revenue from her 2020 single, “Requiem for a Soldier (Theme to the HBO Series Band of Brothers)” to TAPS International, which is aiding families of deceased military service members in Ukraine and across the globe.

A native of Riga, Latvia, Natalja was born under the USSR. In 2018 she immigrated to the United States after marrying a US Air Force Veteran and now lives in the Greater Boston area.

She released “Requiem for a Soldier” as a tribute to the generations of soldiers (including her husband and great grandfathers who were both killed-in-action during WWII while serving in the Russian Army and fighting alongside American Soldiers). Natalja says, “It’s a message to all soldiers that you may not see the results of what you’ve done, but it will change the life of a little girl you’ll never know. It’s because of all of them I enjoy the life I have, and now all Soldiers in Ukraine are part of this brotherhood. They will sacrifice so others will know freedom.”

Since its release Natalja has donated the proceeds from the singles to various veterans organizations in the US. Her mission now is to use that streaming revenue to donate to Ukrainians in need, spreading the message of unity between nations and their soldiers once again, and to rally the music industry to share in her efforts.

“Having been born in the USSR and seeing Russia’s aggression, my heart breaks for Ukraine and fears for my own homeland.” Natalja feels the pain on all sides of this war. “My son’s step-family and half-brother are Ukrainian, I have many close friends who are Ukrainian. I am ethnically Russian and have family in Russia, friends and colleagues in Russia, none of who support this and are stuck there and in fear. My stepson is a US Army Officer currently assigned to an Embassy bordering Ukraine.” Everywhere she looks Natalja sees people in need of support, “it’s overwhelming.” She says. “We’ve always used music as a tool to spread messages of hope and support and I want to do the same with this song.”
